A couple of weeks ago I decided to get a book shelf and paint the blue accent wall in the living room and that led me to more and more changes here and there. All of a sudden my living room was looking a bit different and I couldn’t be any happier. I still have to add something over the big window since I decided to leave it without curtains but besides that it’s almost complete (for now).
The shelf which started it all is now my favorite piece in my living room. I see myself styling it in different ways and changing it up with every season. The metal and color of the (faux) wood are just so nice together. It also gives the room some needed height that was missing. I styled it with some old decor pieces and some new goodies. I got the decorative box, picture frame and wicker basket at Home goods and the mini faux succulent from Target.
I painted the wall from blue to white and it felt like I needed to change the pink rug and pillows. Now that winter is coming, I felt like I needed a change and pink was perfect for the spring and summer but not so much for the winter. I started looking around and fell in love with this black and white fringe rug from Target. The rug has no hard backing underneath but it doesn’t slide around at all. It’s so soft and I literally feel like I’m standing on a blanket. The black and white chevron pattern is so eye-catching and the fringe gives it some texture. It’s so different from what I currently had that I wanted to look for new pillows to match. I found these beautiful pillow covers on Amazon and thought they matched perfectly with the rug. I love that they come in sets of four and are all different. The two white pillows I already had and went perfectly with the new ones.
