Valentine’s Day Decor Ideas

I’ve been really debating on whether or not I wanted to decorate for Valentine’s Day this year. As much as I love all these great holidays, something has changed in the way I view decorating for them. After Christmas, I decided to simplify my life and my home. I don’t want to feel clutter but I want to feel that the holiday is coming. My kids love when I decorate for all the holidays by adding decor on the tables and walls but I feel like with time, my style is evolving into something simpler. I use to decorate so much and by the time the holiday would come, I would be so sick of it.

This lead to me to think, what if I add key pieces to my home and create the “feeling” of the holiday without adding all this decor that clutters my home… I would somehow find that balance. I started by adding an older table runner I had with pink tone tassels that gave me that feeling of Valentine’s Day in a subtle way. It fits right in with my dinning room decor yet the colors bring that Valentine’s Day feeling. I found the cutest tassel garland a few weeks ago and just hung it on my side board in my dining room. The runner and garland really compliment each other.

My kitchen is old and needs to be updated but I still like to decorate it and add decor that will make it look nicer. I like to add some decor items to my coffee station like the stir sticks I found at the Target’s Bullseye last year. I love having mugs for every holiday so that’s always a MUST for me and dish towels are also fun to decorate with.

I’ve learned that you don’t have to spend so much money with decorating your home. I spent less than $20 this year on these few pieces, as one of my goals this year is to decorate my home with items I really love but keep the cost down.

Here are SIX of my favorite decor pieces from the Opalhouse line at Target. I’m obsessed with the line this year and it’s all so affordable.

The best part is that you can find all of this in one store. Opalhouse is really one of my favorite lines at Target. You can shop online and pick up in store. I tend to do that a lot so I don’t have to walk around the whole store looking for specific items.

I agree with everything you say! I love these items that can also be used all year round!

  2. Yes, totally agree. As my runner was part of a spring line and fit right in with my Valentine’s Day decor and I plan on using the tassel garland in my daughters bedroom.
