Favorite Throw Pillows ·

One of my favorite things to buy is probably throw pillows. I tend to refresh the living room and bedrooms with throw pillows and I truly believe they make a room feel fresh and new. You can add color or keep it neutral and still have an impact. Even adding one pillow to a space can make a difference.

I’m constantly rotating pillows around the house. I’ll swap them around from the bedroom to the living room or even the basement. One thing I look mostly for is for pillows that are feathered filled. Unless I really love the pillow, I won’t buy any pillows that are polyester filled or have any other filling aside from feathers/down filled. Feathers just create that great fluffy look that makes accent pillows look great and you can “karate chop” them! Polyester filling doesn’t allow you to do that and in my opinion, if they are on the sofa and get a lot of use, they tend to loose shape and that’s when you can’t reshape them as well as feather filled pillows.

Don’t get me wrong, I still have a few polyester filled pillows but they are older pillows. Once I realized this, I never bought polyester filled pillows again.

I also like to buy pillow covers instead of pillows that have covers and inserts. I don’t have a lot of storage space so buying covers doesn’t require much space. I just use pillows I already had and stuff them. Even if the pillow doesn’t have a zipper, I will stuff the older pillow in a new cover and it still looks great. I do that with my polyester pillows that usually don’t have a zipper or a way to change the cover.
