Favorite Market Bag

For a while I’ve been looking for a shopping bag I can take anywhere with me, as I’m trying to use less plastic bags. As I shopped around, I would always see those durable plastic shopping bags that certain stores offer with their brand name on them…you know the ones by the register. Those seem like a good option but don’t always last long either.

Last week, I came across this Apolis Bag and I knew this was the bag that I needed. I went on their website and started reading about the story behind this company created by Shea and Raan Barton, over a decade ago with “the goal of using business as a force for good”. These bags are made by woman in Bangladesh. They are the ones who benefit the most because Apolis believes in a fair work environment and provides these women with fare trade wages, annual profit dividends and a retirement fund. Their goal is to break the poverty cycle and to me, this is one of those brands that deserve our support.

I love that it is made of dried jute and holds up to 100 lbs. It even has a pocket inside to hold your money or a small wallet. The bag is lined inside which makes it waterproof. They offer more than just bags such as jackets and other clothing. I customized my Market Bag with Modern House Vibes and I just love it so much. You can customize it with anything you like as long as it fits in the three lines. They recently restocked their Vegan Market Bags that comes without the leather handle. They have a few options with handles/straps and different colors to choose from.

I’m Keeping this bag on a hook by the door so I never forget it. It’s just so convenient, especially when I order online a lot and if I no longer want it, I usually return in-store. I don’t have to carry the items around in the box it came in anymore. You can also keep it in your car so you don’t forget it when you go shopping.

XO,
