Boho Rugs And Tips When Buying A Rug

Rugs are one of the biggest must haves in a home. They complete a room, they make it cozy and ground the space. When you see a living room without a rug, it just doesn’t look complete. I have rugs in every space of my home and I truly love how they complete the room. I even have one under my dining room table because without it, it looks bare and unfinished.

I’m all about neutral rugs and usually light colored rugs. We have a “no shoe” policy inside the house so they don’t get as dirty as people might think. My kids do make messes and they do spill food on them but they last me years. I do use THIS vacuum cleaner for any spills or messes.

Here are some quick tips when buying a rug:

  1. Always measure the space you want the rug to cover.
  2. Make sure all the front legs of the sofas and accent chairs are under the rug. When a rug is too small, it looks unbalanced.
  3. In a bedroom, make sure the rug doesn’t go under the night stands and goes past the foot of the bed. Leave enough space for the rug to go under a bench or accent chairs at the foot of the bed.
  4. In the dining room, make sure the chairs are all under the rug, even when they are pulled out.

Below you can see some of the rugs I currently have.

You can see here the rugs from my living room, dining room and Isabella’s bedroom which I absolutely love! It has the cutest pom pom’s and tassels.

Below, are some of my favorite boho inspired rugs. I shared some fun boho patterns too aside from the neutral rugs. I’m always drawn to them and would love to try some bold patterns in the future.

Your rugs are beautiful! Curious is you use rug pads under any and what type? We have vinyl plank flooring so have to be careful with rugs and pads. Thank you

  2. Thank so much! I don’t have any rug pads. We just never had an issue and the furniture holds them down from sliding.
