25 days Of Christmas (Book Edition) and Isabella’s Christmas Tree

Our New Tradition

This week, I was looking for something fun to do with my kids for the holidays and I came across such a great idea..25 days of  Christmas- Book Edition. Each night before bed we will sit down and choose a book to read for 25 days! My kids love books so this was right up our alley. We already had a good stash of books but I had to do some research and look for some fun options that were great for my kids based on their ages (they are 2, 5 and 7 years old). I asked them what were some of their favorite books they had read in school or even heard of, so we can put together a list. It’s important to find books that tell a special story and are fun to read.

I decided to put the books in a basket in Isabella’s room and created a little nook area to sit and read with the kids. We are slowly getting some of the books in the mail so we haven’t completed our collection yet.

This space feels so cozy  and warm… it’s a perfect place to read with the kids. They will each take turns and pick a book every night for the 25 days.

Isabella’s Christmas Tree

I bought this Christmas tree last year and put it in the dining room but since I decided to keep things simple this year, it was perfect for her room. The tree is a flocked 4 foot tree from Walmart.

The Mickey Mouse ornaments are about 5 years old. I bought them when my oldest son was 2 years old and I’m so happy I saved them. All the ornaments are from the Disney store and the stripe ones are old Target ornaments that I bought that same year.

The tree skirt is a small shag rug that I had in her room from Target and the pillows are also an old Target purchase. She had a tent in her room that I recently removed to create more space…the pillows and rug were inside the tent. I’m in the middle of updating her room from a “baby” room to a “big girl” room so I should have a blog post on that in the next few weeks. I will link everything in her room in that blog post for you guy.

Below are the books we decided on. As I mentioned before, we already had some books.  We just ordered a few more and we are so excited to read them all.  If you don’t have 25 books or don’t want to buy so many, you can just rotate the books you already have every night. These are also great gift for kids or stocking stuffers.

I hope you guys enjoy reading these books as much as we will. Even if you don’t have 25 different books, you can always grab a few Christmas books and rotate them every night. Another idea is that you can swap books with friends and family and read some of their favorites books.

25 Days of Christmas is such a cute idea and we plan on making it a tradition for years to come. Do you guys have any Christmas traditions? Let me know in the comment section below.

Happy Reading!

Ana
