Layering Our Bedding For A Cozy Winter Feel and Mini Refresh

I’ve been slowly working on my moody bedroom for a few months now and before I decorate it for Christmas, I wanted to share how I layer my bedding to create a cozy feel for the winter months. There’s nothing better than getting into bed and feeling all the soft and cozy blankets at the end of everyday so I like to give our bed some extra attention.

Starting out with the base is key. Soft and warm sheets is probably what I look for first. We like to have sheets that are warm in the winter and cooling in the summer. Boll and Branch Sheets are my favorite and I absolutely love them! We use the Signature Hemmed Sheets Set and they are so soft and such great quality. Not to mention my husband was so impressed with the way the fitted sheet fits around the mattress, since he makes our bed. We have a thick mattress and it fits perfectly snug around it (No Pulling or tugging in the corners). We also got an extra set of pillow cases and highly recommend grabbing an extra set for all 4 pillows.

A couple of months ago I grabbed the softest linen blend comforter and it’s so warm and perfect year round. I really like how the linen-look gives the bed texture and it’s super soft too! Over the comforter, I wanted to add some color for the winter and I found the prettiest velvet quilt and of course I had to get it in pink. I’ve tried adding different colors to our bedroom but always go back to my signature pink.

Adding a cozy blanket to the foot of the bed is my favorite part. This faux fur blanket is the coziest blanket. I have it in different colors and love them all. Adding a throw to the foot of your bed just gives it that extra cozy feel and adds so much depth and texture to the room. Just look at the first picture above and compare it to the other pictures. It really makes a big difference.

Changing your decorative pillows is also a fun way to give your room a little refresh for the different seasons. I grabbed this faux fur, animal print lumbar pillow at Home Goods and looks perfect for the winter. Lastly, I recently added the wall art and it just pops so well against the black wall.

Now that our bedroom is ready, I’m excited to add some holiday touches like a fun wreath and some twinkling lights. I’ll be decorating for the holidays this week so stay tuned!

Hope this post inspired you!
