Using Spacejoy To Design My Boys Bedroom

Ever since we moved into this house, I’ve had a hard time figuring out the layout for my boys’ bedroom. It’s such a small room to begin with and putting two beds and other furniture is really hard to find the right design. I’m so excited to have partnered with Spacejoy.com, an online interior design studio that offers design solutions for any room in your home in 3D. They have a pool of professional online interior designers, who you are matched with once you sign up to transform your space. They work with you to bring your vision to life by sharing a couple of design concepts and then you revise and finalise a design for the room. The design you finalise after all the revisions features products that you can shop right away.

I loved this service so much that I really wanted to share the process with you!

The process was so easy and user friendly. I started out by going to the Spacejoy website and clicked on Start Project.

I love that they show you what you should expect in the process. (See image below)

They ask you which room you would like to transform. You have 9 rooms/spaces to choose from. I chose Kid’s Bedroom.

Then the questionnaire starts and they ask you more detailed questions with 4 sections. Some of the questions include what budget you have? What’s the occasion for designing this room? Is it because you moved to a new house? Or is it because your kid’s have grown out their room? They offer so many other choices to pick from. They also ask you when would you want this room ready by and they give you a few options to choose from.

Then, you start the Design Requirements Questionnaire. Below, you can see the 4 short sections that are included. It was so easy answering these questions. They ask for room dimensions and images and I was so impressed with the step-by-step instructions on how to take the measurements and specific pictures with your phone’s camera or any camera. Just make sure you take the pictures in daylight so the designers can get the best view of the room.

Below, you can see the pictures I submitted for review. The boys room is small and has limited space. We have a twin bed with a pull out bed under. My youngest son hates pulling out the bottom bed so we just decided to leave it out.

My designer, Maria Castillero emailed me once the 3D designs were ready to be viewed. I was able to log into my Spacejoy account and see the two options she sent me. I loved both options and was so happy with the 3D designs.

Below, you can see the Spacejoy designs in 3D that are interactive in nature. Meaning you can swap, move and shop the designs. Both designs can be viewed in 3D on the Desktop App. And when they need to revise a design, the designer does a live revision and the revision is done via the Desktop App in real time. Then, the designer quickly does a swap, moves the product around to show more layout options, etc. Instead of going into a feedback loop the live revision minimizes the back and forth. The live revision is meant to get the revisions out of the way quickly. I was so pleased with my design, that I didn’t ask Maria for any revisions.

Doesn’t this room look amazing? I love the beach theme she chose. It’s simple, bright and functional.

I love that they utilized every space so well and added storage to the walls which is so important for kids bedrooms.

I am so impressed with Spacejoy and their design team. So happy I got the opportunity to use them and highly recommend them. You can get 20% OFF when you sign up on Spacejoy.com with code: ROARING20!
