Closet Organizing And Styling- Sharing Tips With Some Blogger Friends

I’ve been wanting to organize the boys closet for a long time. Boys can be very messy and you can definitely see how messy they are in the pictures below. I can fold their laundry and organize it, yet 3 days later it’s a total mess again. They already had the chrome shelf that I threw in there when we first moved into this house. I don’t know why I didn’t think of adding bins before but it has transformed the space.

My two boys share this closet so I wanted to grab matching bins but in different colors so they know which bins are theirs. First we went thru all their clothes and donated 3 bags full of clothes. They grow so fast and also rip and stain their clothes so we had a lot to donate. Boys will be boys! I fold their pants in a three fold and it made it easier to fit in the bins. Aside from it being practical and organized, I also want it to look pretty. 🙂

We rearranged the toys they had and placed them on the top shelf for easier access and put their laundry basket in the corner of the closet. They had a ton of costumes so I took those out of their plastic bags they usually come in and threw them all in a larger basket and placed it on the top shelf. They can easily pull it down when they want to play with them . I had this fun Peace Sign wall art and thought it would be really fun inside the closet. They already had the puck light in the closet so I switched out the batteries so it could actually light the space. I ended up centering the light after I took these pictures because it was killing me it wasn’t centered.

Over all, using bins in closets are a total game changer and I plan on grabbing more for other closets. Below, you can see the crazy mess and what it looks like now. I just hope they maintain it this way. LOL!

  1. This is such a great way to store kids’ clothes! I love those bins with the leather handles, they look nice and big and also so versatile for different rooms. The framed print is so fun too! I have two boys and a girl and it has always been my girl whose room and closet needs constant organizing and refolding of clothes. She needs some of these bins!
